I have been studying Sustainable Tourism Management at Hosei University in Japan and will graduate this March. I went to Padang, Indonesia in 2020 and fell in love with the country Indonesia and the people there. I was teaching Japanese in LPK for 1 month all in Japanese. After returning to Japan, I wanted to do something for Indonesians who learn Japanese, so I created an Instagram account to share “tips Bahasa Jepang santuy” and also opened online classes for them. At the most, around 100 Indonesians joined the class. It was difficult to teach people of different levels of Japanese at the same time, but I tried my best to make the class fun for everyone by using pictures and funny jokes. Also, I have been teaching English to junior high school students for 4 years in Japan.
For me, teaching is learning. When I am teaching, I can learn new ideas, perspectives, and values. Also, the most important thing in learning new languages is to have fun. It should always be enjoyable. Learning languages will widen perspectives and make opportunities.
